U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission – Recall Alert

The hardware kits used to secure the wooden wall enclosure to wall studs does not provide sufficient bracing support, posing serious tip-over and entrapment hazards that can result in death or injuries to children.

Six Products are affected by this recall:

54877 - Twin-Size I-Semble Vertical-Mount Murphy Bed Hardware with Mattress Platform

55991 - Full-Size I-Semble Vertical-Mount Murphy Bed Hardware with Mattress Platform

54386 - Queen-Size I-Semble Vertical-Mount Murphy Bed Hardware with Mattress Platform

50479 - Twin-Size I-Semble Horizontal-Mount Murphy Bed Hardware with Mattress Platform

53155 - Full-Size I-Semble Horizontal-Mount Murphy Bed Hardware with Mattress Platform

58262 - Queen-Size I-Semble Horizontal-Mount Murphy Bed Hardware with Mattress Platform

NOTE: Beds purchased after November 2017 were not affected by this recall.

Remedy:

Consumers should immediately stop using Murphy beds built using the recalled hardware kits. Consumers who have purchased one of the recalled hardware kits will receive a free repair kit with instructions. Repair kits will be mailed to all known consumers and should be received by February 9^th, 2018.
