Quick look at the Laguna Fusion F2 Table Saw

Laguna brings a feature-rich hybrid saw to market at a compelling price.

Table saws are some of the most versatile and important tools a woodworker can use. Our surveys indicate that nearly 93 percent of woodworkers own a table saw. The data also suggests that many woodworkers are looking to upgrade their table saws.

If you are one of those woodworkers, the Fusion F2 would be one to consider.

Laguna's Fusion F2 is what I could call a hybrid saw — combining features of a traditional cabinet saw with a 1-3/4 hp motor. (Cabinet saws have 3 hp or larger motors.)

With that said, the Fusion F2 is a feature-rich table saw at a very compelling price.

Key Features

Push stick and rip fence on an F2 table saw
Priced below cabinet saws, Laguna's Fusion F2 is a practical table saw for the home shop woodworker.

Laguna reports that the F2's trunnion system, mounted to the cabinet, is totally new and the result of years of research. The result is very smooth blade adjustment without compromising strength and durability.

Laguna also reports "micro-adjustable blade tilt at a 2:1 ratio and zero backlash."

Rip fence storage on side of Laguna table saw
It has many practical and useful features, including onboard storage for the rip fence, push stick and miter gauge.

Other details include:

  • Three-post height adjustment system
  • Spindle lock
  • Cast-iron table, wings
  • Quick-release blade guard/riving knife
  • Quick-release throatplate
  • On-board rip fence, push stick storage
  • Poly V-belt drive
  • Magnetic On/Off switch
  • Built-in mobility kit

  • Throatplate and splitting knife on Laguna table saw
The quick-release throatplate is made from a resin-based phenolic material. The included splitter with anti-kickback pawls can be quickly changed out for a classic riving knife.

    Fire It Up

When you ready this saw for use, the Fusion F2 will accept 10" thin-kerf and standard-kerf saw blades. It also will handle an 8" stacked dado head up to 3/4" wide.

Cutting makes a lot of sawdust, and the F2 has been designed to contain that dust and exhaust it via a 4" dust port that can be connected to a dust collection system.

All in all, the F2 Fusion saw from Laguna presents a solid option for woodworkers looking to outfit their shop with a workhorse that will serve them well.
