The best way to drill a precise hole is to punch a tiny dimple at its marked center point to register the drill bit's tip. But how can you be sure you're positioning the dimple accurately on the mark, especially if your vision isn't what it used to be? What you need is magnified crosshair accuracy and a foolproof way to locate the center punch—and that's what our Optical Center Punch provides. Using this innovative marking tool is easy. Slip the 9x magnified viewing lens inside the aluminum base and set the base over your layout marks. The viewing lens has sharp, fine crosshairs that are easy to see while you zero-in on the center point. When that's located, hold the base in position, remove the viewing lens and replace it with the tempered-steel center punch. Then give the punch a hammer tap, with full confidence that the dimple will land right on the mark.
