Reach the highest shelves in your library, office, garage, or other hard-to-reach space — premium satin black finish for a timeless look. Roll the ladder smoothly from side to side, or lift it slightly and push it against the wall for vertical storage — the hooks stay on the track to keep the ladder in a vertical position. Kit includes all the metal hardware needed to build an 8' ladder with 7 steps. If you need a taller ladder with more steps, additional step rods are available separately (#42130). The horizontal ladder track (#42118) is also sold separately, as are the track mounting brackets and wood components. Cut your own steps from the wood species of your choice, or purchase our optional cast metal ''Vintage'' steps (#45514).

- 4'' easy-glide wheels roll effortlessly over wood floors, ceramic tile or low pile carpet
- Hook bracket assemblies secure the ladder to the horizontal track (#42118, sold separately)
- Push the ladder against the wall or bookcase for vertical storage — hooks slide down onto the track to keep the ladder from tipping
- Lift the ladder off the track for cleaning or storage
- Cut the wood components from the species of your choice, or purchase our optional Wood Kits with pre-machined ladder rails and steps (e.g. #49545)
- For a more ornate ''vintage'' look, you can purchase our cast metal ''Vintage'' steps (#45514, sold separately). Pre-machined ladder rails are also available for this option (see e.g. #43270, sold separately)
- Includes a ladder plan and assembly instructions that walk you through everything from sizing wood to assembly
