Saturday Finishing Demos at Rockler Fairfax
No woodworking project is complete without an excellent finish, and we are here to help you do just that! Join us over the coming weeks for a series of finishing demonstrations. We will have 2 per day on the Saturdays listed below, each starting at 10 AM and 1 PM. There is no need to sign up and all demos are free!
February 22 - Application Methods
Learn the use of various brushes, padding materials and spray applicators and their proper use.
March 22 - Decorative Finishes
We'll discuss different types of opaque finishes available for wood projects. We will also talk about the use of glazes and aging/distressing techniques. and other surface embellishments. We'll also demonstrate examples of tinging products available at Rockler.
Mom & Me Class: Make a Cutting Board!
Saturday, May 3rd, 10 am - 12 pm & 1 pm -3 pm
Celebrate Mother’s Day with a creative and rewarding woodworking experience! In this special Mom & Me class, you and your teen will work side by side to build a beautiful, handcrafted cutting board—a functional piece you’ll be proud to use or gift. This hands-on, beginner-friendly class is designed for ages 14 and up, and includes expert guidance every step of the way.
Important Info:
- Price: $99.99 per ticket (One ticket admits 1 parent and 1 child)
- All attendees must be 14 years or older
- Attendees will be using power tools—proper safety instruction and equipment will be provided
- Class size is limited to ensure a personalized experience
- Finished cutting board size will be approximately 5" X 16" x 3/4"
