Nova Dovetail Chisel

The Nova Dovetail Turning Chisel quickly cuts a dovetail that matches exactly with the dovetailed contour of your Nova Jaws, making it easy to mount bowl blanks onto your lathe. The precise fit and wedging action give the maximum holding power for your chuck. Although other chisels can be used, none have the dedicated shape of the Nova Dovetail Chisel, and they often result in poor dovetail form and improper seating of the jaws. A handy scale on the chisel blade helps you determine the required diameter of your dovetailed recess. 

Features:

• An accurate and clean dovetail recess is essential for the strongest grip and proper location of your bowl on the chuck. This specially designed Nova chuck accessory quickly and easily makes the dovetail recess to match popular Nova chuck jaws
• Cuts an inside dovetail, to be used with expanding jaws. If you have a reversing lathe, an outside dovetail (tenon) is also possible
• The small size and easily controlled scraping cut make it very easy to form professional dovetails, even for beginning turners
• Made from H2 High Speed Steel, hardened for durability in demanding turning conditions
• Handy mark-out scale can be used as a guide to mark out the diameter you want to cut your dovetail to
• Pre-sharpened. Turner only has to maintain the bevel edge
