The motor boasts 15 amps of power and runs at up to 22,000 RPM for exceptionally smooth routing. The speed can be dialed down to as low as 9,000 RPM for spinning larger bits, and the built-in electronic speed control maintain constant speed under load. The soft start feature provides jolt-free start-ups, while an electric brake spins the bit down quickly after the router is shut off. The RP2301FC has a plunge capacity of 0'' to 2-3/4'', enabling deep mortising operations. Linear ball bearings promote smooth plunging action. Features that enhance durability include oversized ball-bearing construction and a built-in fan with labyrinth to minimize dust entry.
