Creating a wooden bottle opener is a fun and straightforward woodworking project, perfect for beginners or experienced DIYers looking to add a personal touch to their gifts.
Supplies Needed
- Tree & Snowman PDF Template
- Two Rockler Inset Bottle Openers
- Scraps of ¾ Lumber
How To Make DIY Bottle Openers
Apply the paper templates to your project lumber with spray adhesive. Drill a pair of concentric holes where indicated on the templates to recess the opener hardware, then cut the patterns to shape with a band saw, coping saw or jigsaw. Sand the tree and snowman up through the grits until smooth and apply your choice of stain and finish.
Attach the steel bottle openers with screws. If you drill a countersunk pilot hole through the wood, you can mount these openers to a wall stud or other wood surface with a long #8 or #10 flathead screw.
These holiday inspired bottle openers are practical, stylish, and make great gifts. Plus, they’re quick to make, so you can craft several in a short time!
