Festool's revolutionary ExoActive Exoskeleton is a backpack-style, powered harness that straps to your torso and upper arms. It uses an 18-volt battery to assist your arms when raising and holding them up to perform strenuous tasks. The system is designed to effectively reduce fatigue to your arms, shoulder muscles and neck when working on wall and ceiling projects such as sanding drywall compound, painting, or installing wallpaper. Whether at waist height, chest height or overhead, you can set where you want the targeted support as well as the amount of assistance needed—five levels of support force are possible, up to 50 Nm (newton meters) per arm. An illuminated controller makes changing these settings fast and easy. ExoActive is close-fitting and adjusts to different torso lengths. Its fabric and strap components are removable and washable—an advantage when ExoActive is shared by multiple people. A BP 18 4.0 Ah 18-volt lithium-ion battery powers the system. Two batteries and a rapid charger are included. ExoActive Exoskeleton is part of Festool's 18-volt family of products and is covered by the Festool Service all-inclusive warranty.
