Bloodwood can vary in color from a deep red to a lighter rusty shade. It darkens over time, and once finished, can achieve a rich crimson color. Due to its density and hardness, it takes a superb polish. Turns well on the lathe, though its hardness can occasionally cause it to be brittle.
